Hi Steve. My name is Amy Wentzel - I am the fund raising director for a small rescue in North western Pennsylvania (The Lyons Den Rescue, Inc.). We will be holding our 7th annual Canine Carnival on September 12th. This event brings area rescues together with dog clubs and vendors of animal products to network with each other, educate the public on spay/neuter, promote adoptions, and to raise funds for our rescue. Would it be possible for us to use your song, "Rescue" at our event? If we can use it, can you send me a copy? I came across your site while searching for songs to be played by our DJ during the event. Thank you for your help.Amy WentzelOur website:

Rescue gets another chance to help doggies.
Just got this note:
I wrote her back and told her I and my co-writers would be MORE than honored for them to use "Rescue" for their event. This makes me so very happy. And just in case you haven't heard "Rescue"....

"Rescue" used for another animal shelter.
I'm so happy that "Rescue," the song I wrote with several of the participants in the Kulak's Wednesday night workshop, is now being used to help find homes for more dogs at another shelter here in California, the NEW DAWN RESCUE SHELTER of Northern California.
Here is the video they made.

"Rescue" Live at Kulak's Woodshed
This is the new song I've been telling you about. It's called, for now, "Rescue."
(NEW: Download the sheet music!)
It's dedicated to The Pepper Foundation, which is run by my friend and fellow songwriter, Julie Chadwick. What I like about this song, apart from the song itself, I mean, is that it was a group project. Val, Avril, Bo and I were given a room and a piano.
Remembering that Animal Night at Kulak's was three days away, we decided to write a song to be played that night. Since The Pepper Foundation is a rescue group, we decided on the theme of "rescue." I think what we ended up with is very tender and real.
This performance below is actually my third time to sing it for an audience. It was my first time to sing it by heart -- and my first time to play it without any mistakes on the piano.
And here's to doggies everywhere.

1-800-Save-A-Pet
You can also donate a few bucks to help them out. I'm sure it will be put to very good use.
From my friend, singer/songwriter Julie Chadwick:
The Pepper Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non profit Animal Rescue Group. We specialize in rescueing mostly senior and special needs doggies from our City and County Animal Shelters. These are animals that have been discarded by their owners, and would normally be put to sleep because of health issues and age. But we feel these little souls have the right to live out there lives in a wonderful and loving home. We take care of all their medical needs and rehabilitate them, and try to find forever homes for them. Somtimes with senior and special needs this is difficult, so we let them live out their lives either in our care or in loving foster homes. Unfortunately special needs and senior doggies cost the most which is why donations are always greatly appreciated, since we survive soley on donations. We can be reached at planetheart@aol.com. if anyone is interested in either adopting one of our precious souls or making a donation.
