This spectacular view is in Milford Sound New Zealand. We had just dipped the nose of our ship into that waterfall, thanks to the brilliant seamanship of Captain Otto. Now, coming away from it we saw that the waterfall came from a rain-fed lake high in the mountains. The waterfall was created when an ice age glacier sliced this mountain range in half leaving what is called a "hanging valley" -- or a valley in the sky.
